Summer 2008 to Fall 2009 ISARF
will first review and analyze all
information about human-shark interaction
and critically evaluate all current and
proposed techniques, methods, and systems
now in place to prevent shark attacks on
humans. This includes an international
literature and media search and worldwide
contact with available shark attack victims
and observers. We will also contact all
academic and private sector experts studying
shark, dolphin, and animal
behavior. Proposed budget: US$127,300
Fall 2009 to Spring 2001 We
will travel world-wide to video document
interviews with selected shark attack
victims and observers, with emphasis on
situations where dolphins are involved. We
will also video document our work with
selected experts in shark - dolphin - human
interaction and with technological experts
that will be the core or our project for a
shark deterrent system. Proposed budget:
US$238,500
Spring 2001 to Summer 2013 Publish
all research findings, release a documentary
video showing our efforts, and finally, we
will oversee research on the next generation
of shark attack prevention "systems" that
will be organic, safe, compact, affordable
and effective. Proposed budget:
US$875,600 |
